High Tech Turbos

High Tech Turbo specializes in turbochargers. They also manufacture their own line of steel turbine housings and manifolds mainly in performance diesel applications. OC DIESEL offers many turbos and intercoolers from High Tech Turbo on our extensive website. One of our best sellers for HTT is the Turbo Exhaust Manifold for Dodge Cummins.

This manifold consists of three parts and comes to you already put together at no extra charge. This product includes all the gasket and mounting bolts you will need for easy installation.  Exclusively engineered for the 1988-1998 5.9L Dodge Cummins – 12 Valve engine. The High Tech Turbo Exhaust Manifold lowers EGT’s. This product is great as a stock replacement or for high flow performance applications. Constructed from high silicone ductile iron, it delivers a faster spool-up than stock or competitions manifolds. This products is compatible with HTT’s quick spool turbos.

Another great product from High Tech Turbo

Another very popular product from High Tech Turbo is the HTB2 Street Stock 62 Turbo engineered for the 2003-2007 5.9L Dodge Cummins and offers a stainless steel housing.

If you have been running an HX40W then HTT’s outlet flange will make joining your HX40 down pipe extremely simple. Turbos for 1994-2002 are a bolt-up design except for the exhaust downpipe. You don’t need a downpipe but we do offer a performance downpipe for the 2003-early 2004 since the stock exhaust elbow necks down. A l free flowing air cleaner system as well as 4 inch exhaust is a necessity for these high flow turbos. With this product you can send in your S300gG, HTBG, or HBT2 and HTT will upgrade your turbine wheel and housing and compressor wheel or cover to your desired size. HTT suggests replacing the restrictive air cleaners and upgrading to a high flow air intake system.

Diesel Turbo Timer

The BD Diesel Cool Down Turbo Timer – for X-Monitors (CES) is intended for use with the 1994-2008 5.9L, 6.7L Dodge Cummins, 1994-2008 6.0L, 6.4L, 7.3L Ford Powerstroke, and the 2001-2009 6.6L GM Duramax LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM. This timer is designed to protect your turbo and comes complete with detailed instructions for installation. It is fully programmable to your settings and is was exclusively manufactured to send information to the BD X-Monitor.

Why do I need a cool down timer?

This timer is engineered to keep your engine running after you turn your vehicle off. This blocks turbocharger bearing failure that can happen when the engine gets shut down too fast. The typical turbocharger can revolve in excess of 100,000 rpm under load and the spinning will continue when the engine is turned off. The turbocharger is kept cool and lubricated via engine oil. When you turn your engine off, the supply of oil stops. The internal bearings will scavenge to use what small amount of oil is left and then start to heat. This basically boils the oil which can lead to bearing failure far before any damage should occur.  A cool down timer will slow down the spinning to a lower RPM thus cutting down on the chance of engine damage.

How does a turbo timer work?

The CDT2 module uses the signal from the thermocouple that is calculating the exhaust gas temperature. When your engine is turned off and the exhaust temps are higher than the shutdown setting, the CDT2 module will keep power flowing to the ECM/PCM and this keeps your engine running until temps drop down below the indicated setting.

Safety Features

The module included in this kit has some included safety features that are a but unlike the competition. If for some reason the engine temps do not drop below the shutdown setting, after five minutes of the engine being shut off, the CDT2 will spontaneously shut the engine down. Likewise, if the engine starts a REGEN cycle making the EGT’s rise, your engine will shut off. The CDT2 module is also engineered to gauge your trucks hydraulic brakes when connected to the brake pedal terminal.

NOTE: This unit is designed to work in conjunction with BD’s own X-Monitor digital gauge package, connecting between the control module and display.

Fuel Pressure Regulator 7.3L

Features and Benefits

The FASS Fuel Pressure Regulator is for use on Dodge, GM, and Ford 7.3L applications. Engineered from quality 6061 T-6 billet aluminum stock and features full adjustability from 0 to 100 PSI in the FASS diesel fuel system. Contains a 1/8″ MPT boost compression port which grants better fuel pressure regulation from idle to full throttle. This fuel pressure regulator is constructed with 1/2 inch MPT inlet and outlet ports.

Some of the benefits of installing a FASS Fuel Pressure Regulator are the ability to fully adjust the fuel pressure in your FASS system, above or below what it was initially designed for. This product has a boost compensation port that allows boost pressure from the turbo to be directed to the FPR-1001 which momentarily increases the pressure the FASS system produces. When installed with the boost compensation connection this system will allow the fuel pressure and PSI to stay consistent when at open throttle without a drop off in pressure.

Four year warranty!

The FASS Fuel Pressure Regulator is covered by the manufacturers four year warranty after you fill out and return the warranty card. This the only fuel pressure regulator to be covered by this type of warranty!

What is a Fuel Pressure Regulator?

A fuel pressure regulator is a device designed to uphold a consistent fuel pressure for correct fuel atomization. More fuel is going to the fuel rail that needs to go there, so a regulator preserves a certain amount of fuel pressure in the rail then returns whatever else is left to the tank.

How does it work?

Inside the regulator casing is a spring that pushes against a diaphram. The fuel pump has to generate enough fuel and enough pressure to overcome the spring pressure. The left over fuel is then sent back to the tank through the fuel line return line. When your truck is at idle, there is less pressure against the fuel coming inside the regulator because it has a vacuum hose attached to it inside the intake manifold. When you apply gas and the vacuum drops in pressure, the fuel pressure increases to let the engine access more fuel when needed.

What signs will there be when my fuel regulator is failing?

Lack of fuel pressure or excessive fuel pressure are a big tip off. There may also be black smoke or an  instant drop of fuel pressure once when your truck is turned off.

HTT Manifold

Features of the HTT Manifold

The High Tech Turbo Exhaust Manifold is to be used for 1988-1998 5.9L Dodge Cummins – 12 Valve. This is a 3 piece kit. It comes with all gasket and mounting bolts for installation. The HTT Manifold is made in the U.S. from high silicone ductile iron. It will provide for faster spool-up than the competition. The HHT Manifold will lower EGT’s and comes to you already put together at no extra charge. Unlike other manufacturers, the HTT Manifold comes with the needed mounting bolts and heater hose bracket. It also comes drilled and tapped for a 1/8 pyrometer as well as 1/4 plugs installed. This product is available 12 and 24 valve styles and is port matched for each version. The HTT Manifold is a superb replacement for a stock component or high-flow performance applications featuring a tuned, balanced flow design. One of the highlights of this kit is that this manifold flows exhaust more consistently than stock and will not be as susceptible to cracking or splitting.

How does a manifold work?

The engine intake manifold is an gathering of passages that air or a mixture of air and fuel flows from the air intake or throttle valves to the intake valve ports in a cylinder head or block. In a diesel engine with a fuel injection system, air needs to be received with slightest of pressure drops. Therefore, the intake manifold is used to disperse air or the air and fuel mixture equally to each of the cylinders  and to aid in the vaporization of the fuel. Another purpose of the exhaust manifold is to accumulate and carry exhaust gases away from the cylinders with the least amount of back pressure possible.

More horsepower, torque and towing strength

Stock exhaust manifolds are not designed to get the most power from your vehicle. The sub-par engineering of stock parts force your engine to work extra hard because it is trying to squeeze exhaust gases through a hold that is just too small. This results in wasted fuel. When you install an aftermarket component like the High Tech Turbo Exhaust Manifold, you will gain better fuel mileage and more power from your engine. Some benefits of installing a HTT Manifold is better fuel efficiency, lower exhaust temps, more horsepower and torque and better towing power.

NOS System

Added power without the headaches

The TS Performance PowerFool2 NOS System was engineered exclusively for diesel applications.  All wiring and solenoids are self contained in two boxes and are armed with all the hardware and fittings you will need for installation. The PowerFool2 NOS System takes the mystery of of Nitrous and eliminates the complications of wiring. Installation location is entirely up to you. This system gives you lots of control and choices like where you want to place your nozzles and how much nitrous you want to apply. This application works even if you haven’t yet O-ringed your heads. If you have reservations about using nitrous, this is the perfect product for you. You can enjoy the added power without having to figure out mixtures or deal with the stress that comes along with setting up a nitrous system. The TS PowerFool2 system can get you up to 300 hp and should be used in compliance with your application.

How does a NOS System work?

When nitrous oxide is heated to around 570 degrees, it separates into oxygen and nitrogen. Injecting nitrous oxide into the engine provides for far more oxygen accessible during combustion. Since you already have the oxygen, you can also inject more fuel, permitting the same engine to achieve more power. A NOS system is the easiest way to achieve a striking amount of boost to an engine.

Is nitrous oxide safe in a diesel engine?

Yes! Diesel engines are the only application that nitrous actually makes it safer to operate. Nitrous give more oxygen to a diesel engine. This works to burn more fuel somewhat like a turbo. The intensely cold nitrous offers a large amount of intercooling. The worst thing that can happen if too much nitrous is introduced to the engine is it cools the intake too much to where you lose fire and you simply have to restart your engine. The larger your engine is, the more nitrous it can handle. As stated earlier gains of up to 300 hp can be achieved but in smaller engines 150hp can be reached safely. Torque is also greatly affected. Gains of up to 1600ft. lbs. can be realized.

Dynatrac Free Spin

The Dynatrac Free-Spin Heavy-Duty Hub Conversion Kit is for use on 2000-2008 5.9L, 6.7L Dodge Cummins, Ram 2500, 3500 – 4WD Stage 1 (ABS Included)

Features of the Dynatrac Free-spin Hub conversion kit

This kit was engineered to replace the factory unit bearings with stationary spindles for greater strength, better fuel economy, and improved performance. Included in this kit are serviceable Timken bearings, cromoly spindles, cast nodular wheel hubs, Warn premium manual locking hubs, a large 1.50″ diameter 35-spline outer axle shafts. All parts included in the Dynatrac Free-spin conversion kit are made in the U.S. and are tested for optimum consistency under extreme use. The Free-Spin system provides you with easy serviceability,  a more comfortable ride, improved steering control, better fuel economy and an extended axle drive shaft life. Manual -locking hubs cut down on wear and tear and improve fuel economy by stopping parts from rotating constantly during 2WD operation. Improves dependability by removing an unsatisfactory axle disconnection operation.

What happens when a bearing fails?

Wheel bearings are a small but very important component that don’t fail often but when they do, can cause serious problems. Not taking care of a failing bearing can result in damage to your truck or could trigger an accident caused by a loss of control of  your steering or braking system. When a wheel bearing fails, your wheel could come completely off of your vehicle while in operation. One reason for a bearing to become worn is if it is installed incorrectly or in the midst of an accident. If this does happen while driving and your wheel comes off, you will end up careening down the street scraping the bottom of your truck causing major damage and expensive repairs. Installing a Dynatrack Free-spin hub conversion kit eliminates these worries.

Why the Dynatrac Free-Spin Hub system?

Bearings are designed with a very thin or plastic cage. These are not the best quality and are used by manufacturers as a cheap way to put their vehicle together. Upgrading to a spindle design provides you with a much safer and reliable component. If  a bearing failure does occur, you are looking at towing and repair costs that can be extremely expensive. Switching to a more reliable fixed spindle hub system eliminates these worries and could save you some money.

Performance Fuel Pump

The BD Diesel Performance Fuel Injection Pump is for the 1990-1993 5.9L Dodge Cummins with an Automatic Transmission. BD Diesel builds their diesel fuel pumps for stock and high performance street applications as well as racing vehicles.

NOTE: core charges apply on all pumps and must be returned. $1000.00 refundable core charges apply.

What is an injection pump?

An injection pump is the device that pumps fuel into the cylinders of a diesel engine. The pump is driven indirectly by the crankshaft timing belt that also operates the camshaft. It turns at half crankshaft speed in a conventional four-stroke engine. The fuel is injected a small amounts just before top center of that cylinders compression stroke.

What are the benefits of an injection system?

One benefit is a smoother and more reliable engine response while operating a quick throttle change. Your engine will start better in any sort of weather. It will also increase your trucks fuel efficiency. Your engines air and fuel mixture determines engine performance, emissions, and fuel economy. Fuel injection systems can react quickly to sudden demands like a high throttle, and injects the correct amount of fuel to meet the engines needs. The BD Diesel Performance Fuel Injection Pump is a multi-point system that delivers a more precise and even mass of fuel to each cylinder than a carburetor does. This equals cleaner emissions. Fuel injection also increases fuel efficiency.
